OUR GOAL:
By God's grace we want to reach residents of Red Deer and the surrounding area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to establish a new church for the glory of God.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
In the first year, we will focus upon promotion (getting the word out) and gathering and preparing a core group of people.
Our first gatherings will consist of these three different in-home topics:
As a small group, we are already meeting for worship. We take time to sing appropriately chosen songs to worship God and to edify one another, to pray, and to hear a sermon designed to teach, encourage, and challenge us in our walk with God. For the first few months we are meeting in a residential home as we look for meeting facilities in the city. Exploring Christianity – an 8-week study to explain the foundation and basics of Christianity. This class is designed to help everyone gain a better understanding of biblical Christianity, but it will be especially helpful for those who are unfamiliar with Christianity and would like to know more about what the Bible teaches (which is different than what many people assume and what many churches teach).

The Gospel of John – an in-depth study of the Apostle John’s Gospel (good news) about Jesus Christ. We will learn who Jesus is, what His purpose is, and what He accomplished, and why His work is so important.

We value gathered worship. The Bible clearly describes worship as that which believers do together in a particular location. This is because God has instituted the local church as the means through which He will be glorified and saints will be edified.
Therefore, you will not find "worship services" on our website.

ABOUT US:
We are Darren and Elizabeth Hammermeister. We were both born in Edmonton, Alberta; and we met while attending secular college in Calgary. We were married in August of 1986 and have one daughter who is a professional elementary teacher.
Pastor Darren has 34 years of experience. After earning his Bachelor of Theology degree in 1992, he served in various capacities such as youth pastor, assistant church planter, and pastor. In 1999 he took some time off from ministry to pursue a Master of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. Following seminary, he actively served as a church planting pastor in Surrey, British Columbia from 2005-2025.
In addition to ministering alongside Darren, Elizabeth is also a professional, home-based piano instructor. She has been teaching since 1995 and earned her ARCT certification in 2003. She loves teaching enthusiastic students of all ages – her youngest is 5 years old and her oldest student is in her mid-forties.
